What we found riding it
On the road
- The torque sensor makes the assist feel natural: power builds with how hard you pedal rather than kicking in the moment the cranks turn, so pulling away from lights is smooth and predictable.
- Hills become far less of a chore than on the cadence-sensor bikes common at this price.
- The step-through V-frame is easy to mount in work clothes and with a child seat or trailer fitted.
- Lights run off the main battery and the mudguards come factory fitted, so it is ready for daily commuting out of the box.
Shortcomings
- At around 30kg it is noticeably heavy to carry up stairs. Riders without ground-level storage should look at a folding bike.
