Haibike and Winora find a buyer, but Ghost is left without one

Haibike, an e-bike brand sold in Australia, has found a buyer. Bike Tree GmbH, part of the Singapore based Dutech group, signed an agreement on 29 October 2026 to acquire the Haibike and Winora assets from Winora Staiger GmbH. Final execution is expected in early November, and the price has not been disclosed.

It follows the insolvency proceedings opened in August across the Accell Group's Haibike, Ghost, Lapierre and Raleigh brands. The news is good for the two brands that survive, but the picture is mixed for the rest.

What has been confirmed

What it means for Australian owners

None of the reporting we found says what happens to Haibike distribution, dealer support or warranty claims in Australia. That is the question owners and buyers care about most, and it is currently unanswered. We will update this article if the Australian importer or the new owner publishes a statement.

In the meantime, the practical advice is simple. Keep your proof of purchase and service records, and book any warranty work with your dealer sooner rather than later. If you are shopping for a Haibike, ask the dealer in writing who will honour the warranty and supply parts, and weigh any discount against that uncertainty.

A buyer for the brand is not a guarantee of local support. Ask the dealer to confirm in writing who backs the warranty and parts supply in Australia.
