The quick read

Is it for you?

Best suited to

Budget minded trike buyers who want a simple steel three wheeler with a 180kg total load rating.

Standout strength

A 180kg load rating including rider and cargo, nine assist levels and locking brake levers for $2,999.

The main compromise

A front hub motor, cadence style pedal sensor and mechanical discs on a 36kg steel frame are basic for the price.

Consider something else if

You want hydraulic brakes, a torque sensor or a folding frame (see the Transporter and Pioneer).

Check before you buy

Ask the dealer how the twist grip accelerator behaves and its speed cap, as TEBCO's FAQ says the motor only runs when pedalling.

TEBCO lists a 250W motor and a 25 km/h maximum assisted speed and says no licence or registration is required. The spec table also lists a twist grip accelerator assembly (Wuxing 158X.T, captioned twist grip accelerator), while the TEBCO FAQ says the motor is only activated by pedalling. The throttle speed cap is not published, so we have not confirmed it is limited to 6 km/h. EN 15194 is not named.

Common questions

How much does the TEBCO Carrier cost in Australia?

The TEBCO Carrier is listed at $2,999 (TEBCO list price. Sold in store only after a test ride). eBikeFinder checks pricing against manufacturer and distributor information, and prices can change with sales and stock. This price was last checked on 16 Oct 2026.

Is the TEBCO Carrier road legal in Australia?

Its compliance is listed as unverified on eBikeFinder. A road-legal Australian e-bike is limited to 250W of pedal-assist power that cuts out at 25 km/h, with any throttle capped at 6 km/h. Confirm the TEBCO Carrier meets those limits with the seller before riding on the road.

What is the range of the TEBCO Carrier?

The TEBCO Carrier has a claimed range of about 60 km from its 475Wh battery. Real-world range is usually lower than the claim, since it depends on assist level, rider weight, terrain and wind.

What motor does the TEBCO Carrier have?

The TEBCO Carrier uses a 36V front hub motor, in a front hub position.

How much does the TEBCO Carrier weigh?

The TEBCO Carrier weighs about 36 kg. That matters if you need to lift it onto a car rack, carry it up stairs, or store it, since e-bikes are heavier than regular bikes because of the motor and battery.

Who sells and backs the TEBCO Carrier in Australia?

The TEBCO range is distributed in Australia by The Electric Bicycle Co Pty Ltd (TEBCO). It comes with a 2 years frame, 12 months electrical and mechanical parts, from date of purchase (per TEBCO FAQ) warranty. Buying from a brand with real Australian support matters most when something needs a warranty claim or a service.
