Packster2 70 CT Touring

Riese & Muller
$12,495AUD, sale price at Dutch Cargo Bike (regular $14,495, save $2,000). Touring trim in Urban Grey Matt is the only trim/colour combination that was actually addable to cart, White and Chilli Matt colours and the Vario and Automatic trims all showed 'Variant sold out or unavailable' at time of check. Listing shows 'Limited stock arriving, secure yours for delivery after' a future date, treated as pre-order rather than in-stock. R&M's own AU configurator lists the equivalent Touring trim from $13,609 AUD, a real gap worth rechecking, see NOTES.md.

The quick read

Is it for you?

Best suited to

School run parents who want R&M's newest cargo platform with room for up to three kids and don't mind a straightforward derailleur setup.

Standout strength

Full suspension smooths out the front box's ride, and this Touring trim is currently $2,000 off at $12,495 AUD, the cheapest verified way into the Packster2 line.

The main compromise

Only the Urban Grey Matt colourway was actually purchasable at check time. White, Chilli Matt, and the Vario/Automatic trims were all sold out, and the listing itself reads as pre-order stock, not ready-to-ship.

Australian compliance

claimed by brand

Pedal-assist, rated to 250W, assist cuts at 25 km/h. Declared by the brand; declaration not independently sighted.

250 WRated motor
25 km/hAssist cutoff
NoThrottle

Retailer's own spec widget explicitly separates AU (25 kmph) from NZ (32 kmph) maximum assisted speed for the same physical bike, region set by software limiter. AU-shipped units confirmed 250W motor power, torque sensor pedal assist, no throttle listed. Walk assist is present but that is the standard low-speed push function, not a riding throttle.
